Used automatic A4 - which gearbox to go for?
Discussion
Hi all,
My brother is looking to buy a used A4 Avant for between £8k and £11k - which auto box should he go for?
I seem to remember when buying my A6 to avoid the multitronic and go for the tiptronic? I ended up with a manual but that's another story!
It would be the 2.0TDI engine.
Thanks in advance!

In the B8 chassis A4 the multitronic boxes are absolutely fine, this is the 2008 onwards shape.
Gearbox oil changes at 40k are still important but the box gives us no headaches. I see these cars at work all day every day at all manner of ages and mileages.
Early multitronics, particularly the original 6 speed units are not good.
