Long shot. Music from R4 sitcom 'Rent'?

Ok, don't fancy my chances but worth a try.

BBC Radio sitcom 'Rent' from 1993 but was on this morning on R4extra. There is a piece of music, intro/excerpt from a pop song that is played between scenes. I recognise it, but can't place it. Anyone know?
