I've purchased the Brands season tickets for the past two years and always thought them good value.

The basic one for '05 is £135.

They've also introduced some new options for this year which includes a £325 ticket that allows entry to all events (including bikes) plus access to the Brabham Centre Hospitality suite.

Trouble is, JP seems intent on driving away some of the major championships from the MSV circuits this year - F3/GT and, IIRC, Touring Cars.

So is it worth it? (Either option)

BTCC will still be at the MSV circuits. It's just F3/GT that won't be.

Seems a lot of money when entry to a normal meeting is £20 (less for clubbie meetings), you'd have to go 7 times to make it worthwhile.

Only missed two meetings in '04 and went to about 5 at Snet - including Touring Cars. I'd probably have spent over £200 on gate prices alone. Plus you get free south-bank parking at Brands too!

But the question is, would I have gone if I hadn't had the pass???

Is that £135 for all MSV tracks or can you only use it at Brands ?

That one is for all MSV tracks for car races only.

They do a Brands "Gold" pass for £120 which applies to Brands Hatch only but includes all meetings including bikes.

But hey you will get dirt cheap entry to the first A1 event. If it ever comes off

I think you'll find that it's Monsuier Ratel who has a bee in his bonnet, not JP. JP simply wants to charge F3/GT the standard rate for hiring the circuits, which is about £18K a day for Brands IIRC. Everyone has to pay this (even people like the 750MC), except the BTCC, which get the circuits free. Last year, F3/GT paid a nominal fee of £2,500 per day at all MSV circuits. This year, JP said they'd have to pay full price, same as everyone else. Cue Ratel spitting his dummy

I going to tread carefully hear as I know both Mr Ratel and Mr Palmer quite well.

Strange thing is that Alan Gow's BTCC package gets to use all the MSV tracks free of charge.
