Pirelli P Zero for DBS
Discussion
Hi,
I've got a query about the Pirelli P Zero AMS tyres that are supposedly developed especially for AM. I've got a DBS in the UAE, so getting hold of the AMS version of the Pirelli P Zero is actually quite difficult. The tyres are all imported, so they've either been sitting on the shelf at the AM Service Centre for a while, or they need to be ordered and shipped from Europe - fine if you're organised, but not one of my defining qualities!
So, my question is, does anybody know what the difference is between the standard P Zeros (these are readily available) and the AMS version. I'd like to know, in practical terms, what the difference is with stability, driving experience etc. so if anyone has experience of driving on both, or anything else that can help, that would be most appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Scott.

Hey Scott, I am in Scotland and swapped out the bridgestones on my DBS for Standard Pirelli P Zeros, it has transformed the power deliver of the car. With the temperature in Dubai the tyres will work well.
I didn't actually know that there was a special Pirelli P Zero so I will look into that. I have also fitted a Quicksilver Straight through Cat Pipes which has greatly improved pick an performance.
cheers

IRC I think that the only difference is the load index and speed rating.
e.g.:
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A - 235/40 R19 (92Y) (AM9-BZ) TL
Bridgestone Potenza RE050A - 235/40 R19 (96Y) XL (CZ) TL
Having said that sometimes there's no difference at all:
Pirelli PZero - 255/35 R19 (96Y) XL (AM8) TL
Pirelli PZero - 255/35 R19 (96Y) XL (L) TL
Note: The tyres sizes above are only given for example purposes.
