I am planning to move from my 5 year old LP560 to a Huracan now that some of the initial hype seems to have gone out of the market and order lead times are reasonable.

A couple of questions. Normally I sell my cars privately but I have not sold one worth this much before. Is it a bad idea (too risky) to sell privately rather than through a dealer on sale or return? Would anyone want to spend that much and not buy through a dealer as all of them in the classifieds seem to be through dealers?

Also, there seem to be a load of nearly new/delivery mikes Huracans available. Does anyone know if the seemingly good supply is leading to reasonable reductions off list price for new orders?

Have a few conversations with Main dealers, im sure they would want to sell your Gallardo for you or offer decent price if you were ordering through them and feel sure a deal to suit you both could be struck.
I personally wouldnt spend that sort of money buying a car private, would have to be a main agent or decent dealer. Not saying the car would be any better from a dealer but too many scammers and untrustworty types out there.

I would have thought with the way huracan are hanging round you would get a cracking px deal on a new or ex demo car.

Used Gallardo market is very strong at the moment, I would imagine you'd get a decent bid out of most dealers at the moment esp for trading on a Huracan.

Yes you would have thought so. However my closest dealer could not have been less interested in selling me anything! I have yet to look around further afield so we she see.

Not sure who you have dealt with but I understand your frustration, Im still waiting after 4 months plus for Mercedes to call me regarding a new GT and I wanted a used A45 for the interim period, bought the LP in the end.

I am a little torn between loyalties but I received first class service from Craig Cairns at lambo pangbourne during my purchase, and a good friend for many years has just taken over sales at lambo sevenoaks, both would be happy to receive your calls.

And if they are not please let me know as i dont beleive in recommending people unless its justified.

I will certainly be giving them a try.

Sevenoaks have been very keen to get/keep my servicing business the last couple of years.

I'd have no issue buying a car orivately, personally, if I found the car I wanted. Just did that in fact. Will put up the incoming thread when it arrives. I have no data to support this, but my suspicion is there should be good deals on a Huracan with apparently so many in the classifieds. Try both steering variants.

I would suggest a phone call into Craig Cairns at Lamborghini Pangbourne. Very knowledgeable and helpful and I'm sure he can help with both purchase and disposal
