Thinking about getting some off-road tyres for the jeep.

Currently it has 17" alloys, would I be better getting some 16" as the tyre choice seems a bit better?

Are the any other benefits running 16" alloys?

cheaper & more availability for offroad tread, no issues with caliper clearance etc

I've got General Grabber AT on my GC on 17" rims .... can't remember the profile, but matched it to the same rolling radius as the factory fitted 16" rims + tyres..... no issues with clearances etc

Running 245/75/16 General Grabber AT's on mine, the rims are from a JK.

You would need a 2" lift as these are slightly bigger than stock (speedo now only over reads by 1mph).

Pic in my profile, but with Runway Enduro's (same size as above).

You could still get the JK rims and play with sizes the get a better match to stock rolling diameter rather than the lift if preferred.

Is that just the 2" body lift and slightly bigger tyres in your profile pic?

I'm due new tyres and would have eventually got a lift, think I'll get both at once now! Wallet isn't thanking you but sensible way to do it and that looks like a fair bit more clearance

Yes - just the 2" puck type lift.

No additional trimming of bumpers etc necessary for the above tyre/wheel combo.
