XBONE £289 at Sainsbury's - Is it worth it?
Discussion
We have the PS4 and XBONE and to be honest I find the Xbox dreadful in comparison.
If I had the choice again I wouldn't buy the Xbox, 4 reasons.
1. The controllers are not rechargeable without buying the battery packs.
2. The menu system is baffling and unintuitive.
3. The power brick is the size of a small house.
4. Installs seem to take ages to complete, whereas the PS4 starts virtually instantly.
There are another couple of minor issues, but on the whole the PS4 seems to have been thought out much better, not to mention the supposed power advantage it has (which I cannot notice to be honest).

Thank you for that.
I don't mind the battery thing. I have a raft of AA rechargeables I've used through the last 7 years of the 360 and I prefer that. Easier to find a charged set than faff about finding a cable and getting the controller to charge from a computer. I prefer to wait for my games to install actually. I hated during The Last of US the drive suddenly churning to life right in a quiet scene really ruined it for me. OK the 360 drive is a noisy bugger, but at least you know it'll stay off once the game has booted....
I have a PS3 as well and I absolutely hate it. The menus are badly laid out, it takes ages to connect (it would only connect via wifi when I first bought it!)and enter the store. I've used it just for the exclusive games on it which were fine but not overly impressed compared to the 'lower specced' 360. The games in the store are cheaper, picked Borderlands 1 for £6, still £25 on Xbox live! But in one of the DLCs I had to give up as the slow down meant the video lagged the sound by 15 seconds!
I like the HDMI pass though on the XBONE and the simpler design; I think the PS4 looks silly.
I guess as I love both Tomb Raider and Drake, I'll end up with both like last time, although I only got a POS3 about 3 years ago and only really use it as a BR player now.

ASDA are offering an XB1 + Halo MCC + Xmen blue ray for £249.99.

We have an XBone (It's the boys but I use it a lot) and the installation of games is ridiculous due to the length of time it takes. You are looking at a minimum of an hour or 2 to install a game even from disk.
You can play most games within 5 minutes or so of them installing, you don't need to wait until the end.I'm pretty sure all my games have fully loaded in about 20 minutes or so, then there's usually the wait for a patch to download, that may be where your delay is coming from?
Oh yeah, and £289 is a bargain, I paid £480ish for mine.

You've got problems then. I think the longest I've had to wait on my PS4 (from disc) is about 15 minutes but I can't remember which game it was. What I do find gauling is the amount of updating that needs to be done with the operating system and the games themselves over time. Now that is truly frustrating.

Get the console your mates have or virtual mates, if your not into online gaming then get the console which has the exclusives your into, remember that tomb raider will go to ps4 at some point.
That being said, I have an Xbox one and I always look for a cheap ps4 on fleabay lol! Unless your a fanboy there is very little to split the two machines.

Well I went for it. Realised you can get the Forza Horizons (not really interested) pack, then get a free game (FC4 - well interested!) so is pretty good value.
So far it's kinda meh. The dashboard looks less interesting. The controller is OK but not as good the old one that feels indestructible. Bit lazy though. The PS4 has a couple more buttons, the track pad AND the light beam thing over the PS3, M$ appeared to have done very little apart from make it a bit smaller and add a nice rubber end stop to the triggers.
It's ok, but not the massive step forward in graphics and experience I was expecting so glad I didn't pay launch prices! The HDMI pass though is useless as it needs to be powered on to show the content.
Now I have a PC, digibox, 360, POS3, Ouya AND a XBONE arguing over 3 HDMI ports!
