SL 63 anything a potential owner should know?
Discussion
Having tried quite a few cars recently to replace my Boxster RS 60 the only car to really impress me amongst Aston Martins etc is the SL 63 with full performance pack. Is there anything a potential owner should be made aware of the one I'm interested in is a very low mileage 2008 model.
Water leaks into the boot - check for any kind of damp as it quickly gets into the electrics in there - see other r230 threads

Low miles & '08 car - check for oil leaks on the major seals under the car my 25k 2009 c63 has a possible main oil seal leak being investigated next week and both garages I have spoken to think if it is leaking it is because it has sat a lot. Not really loosing any oil as far as I can tell but you want it put right.
2008 '63 motors could have the header bolt issue - search c63 header bolt issue for more but basically - have they been changed out? Is there any coolant loss or moisture in the oil? Very unlikely but...
Roof mechanism as with any cabrio is all good
Rusty bits
Brakes - expensive so life left in them?
Service history - proper inc decent oil used
Dodgy mods?
Just some thoughts
Not sure but did these have air suspension all round? If so pumps and lines? Edit: sorry I believe it is hydraulic looking at the mb uk thread. Expensive if issues!
Good luck sounds like a cracking car!

Thanks I tried it again yesterday and bought it. It has an Inchcape one year warranty (bought it from an Official Porsche Centre) as it had just come in as a part exchange. I've had a good look over it as I'd previously looked at the SL55 AMG so I know all about strut leaks etc but it seems Mercedes took note and according to some USA based forums no issues at all. It has a full official MB history.
I've got a printout of the Oasis vehicle enquiry sheet and it is a full performance pack car plus loads of other goodies £13K plus VAT in total although very big chunk of it is the full performance pack.
Like the SL 55 AMG it squiggles down the road when you floor it and sounds like a WW2 Messerschmitt fighter, wonderful blips on the downshift too.

Directions to the local petrol station will probably come in handy.
Indeed, but I've just checked the mileage at each MOT over the last three years on the car I've just sold and its 1500 per year despite trying to do more (although my motorbikes are perfect fine weather machines too) I plan to do more.

Lovely! Nice waft through France maybe?!
Any pics?
I took three photos the other day but the car had only just come in as a P/X so it was filthy. I guess as it's being prepared for me to collect next Thursday the Porsche Centre will scrub it up properly, it is immaculate with only 27K miles and a full MB history Any pics?
