Porsche Replica
Discussion
Hello,
I have been toying with the idea of buying a classic Porsche 911 3.2 or 2.7 replica. Having no experience as to where to look or what to look out for, i thought someone here may help.
Quick look on eBay brings back something interesting but i am not sure if its a replica or not? Also what’s good or bad about buying a replica etc?!

Thank you!

It's not a 'replica', but neither is it particularly 'original'.
If you want a 911, but don't know much about them, you'd be wise to do a lot of research and take advice before committing yourself. And, above all else, get an expert PPI.
The current market is very dangerous territory for the uninitiated and there's a lot of 'mutton dressed as lamb'! Caveat emptor.
My guess is, most people on this forum would be very sceptical about a modified car like that.

Replicas usually mean taking a similar model and making a replica of something more iconic or using a later model and back dating it. That one is a 'forward date' to a 964 RSR replica. Seems an odd thing to do to me.I have been toying with the idea of buying a classic Porsche 911 3.2 or 2.7 replica. Well it could be worse it could be a Colvin replica Porsche.
At least we believe it's a 116k mile 1983 3.2 Carrera with a 964 turbo/RS bodykit, but for £27k.
I'm sure they'll be some rust issues are hiding under the skin. Certainly not collectible!
Only they didn't make 3.2 Carreras in 1983.....At least we believe it's a 116k mile 1983 3.2 Carrera with a 964 turbo/RS bodykit, but for £27k.

It's a 3.0 SC with no tax (was due 1st Oct 14) and MOT until 17th April 2015.

So it's a 116k mile 1983 3.0 SC (not a 3.2 Carrera) with a 964 turbo/RS bodykit, but for £27k.
