Cerbera price points
Discussion
The "past it's best" thread has made me think about price points.
For a totally fubar'd Cerb, I'd reckon around £8k
Still running with horrendous paint/interior (chassis rotten) and/or (engine troubles) around £10k
Still running with good paint/interior (chassis rotten) or (engine troubles) around £12k
Runs well with good paint/interior but (chassis) or (engine) niggles £14k
Runs well with good paint/interior no problems £16k
Totally restored £18-20k
Add +£4k if it's a mk2 or red rose.
Opinions?

These points are probably OK for a car from a dealer but 10-20% higher than a private sale.
That wouild bring mine in on about the right price. Part of the reason was that I bought on condition and disregarded the lack of any service history as I could see the car had been well looked after. As quite a few of the better Cerbs are owner maintained you need to be able to look at the sellerand the car and decide whether you trust the maintenance.
One other point is that I would pay at least an extra £2k for a car that had been garaged all its life. I didnt even bother to look at cars that had moss and a visible tideline around the boot hinges.

You wouldn't get a decent red rose for 24k....
So in your opinion - what would a red rose fetch?Maybe I need to change my last part a bit to as stated for 4.0 & 4.2 and +£2-3k for a 4.5 and +£4-6k for a red rose/mk2?

Personally, I wouldn't want a garage queen as I use mine every day so it wouldn't stay like that. However, tideline and moss would be a fubar category and broken as parts - it'd be worth £8k.Edited by Byff on Friday 3rd April 20:45
Late last summer I purchased a 4.5 that has been fully restored inside and out, with a str8six full engine rebuild - chassis original solid condition for around 21k. Every mot, invoice etc since birth.
At the height of summer I would expect to see great condition ones circa 25k IMO
Redrose 30k?

What about a cat c car? Say for example a cat c mk2 with a full restoration. I'm currently restoring mine. It will have stripped and powder coated chassis, new paint, new interior etc. just wondering as to how the cat c marker will affect value considering its condition is going to be better than new? Not that I'm going to sell it of course!
