Evening all,

As per my other post, I'm thoroughly hacked off with Garmin, and have therefore been looking for a replacement.

At the same time, my mobile is starting to creak at the seams somewhat, so I'm now thinking of seeing if I can kill two birds with one stone.

I'm looking at getting a Sony Xperia Z2 (it's waterproof, so I could have it stem mounted in the rain and not worry about it) and it has ANT+ connectivity.

My Garmin HR monitor and cadence sensors are also ANT+ devices, so can presumably talk to the phone, but does this mean that by using the sensors and phone together with the Strava Android app, I'd get HR and cadence data in there in the same way as I do when I've uploaded it from the Edge?

Also, are there any decent bike computer apps on Android which make use of this connectivity to show speed, cadence and HR on screen if I have it stem mounted?

No support for Ant+ on the Android app only Bluetooth devices, IOS version apparently does support Ant+.

Thanks, I hadn't realised that! Fortunately, there's an easy workaround

No, definitely, categorically not!!! hehe

I've been forced to use an iPad with work for the last few months, and it's so restrictive and stunted compared to Android that I can't ever imagine spending my own money on an Apple product.
