Carbon Can

My fuel tank has started suffering from vacuum
Big gasp of air when I release the cap
Is this the carbon can not doing its job / fked
If so is this sorted by a filter and a one way valve

Don't think you'll need a one way valve just a decent breather / filter. That's all I've got and it seems to work fine (2,000 miles+)

I only isolated my carbon can to have 1 less hose running along the chassis and tidy things up a bit. Following advice from others I cut the fuel tank breather hose to allow enough length to fit a small k&n type (ASH) breather and secured to a chassis brace near the diff. I later completely disconnected the can and removed it through the access panel in the o/s/f wheel arch (having widened the hole a little). I taped up the electrical connector on the loom and secured it to the body adjacent to the old washer bottle mounting location (I'd also relocated the washer bottle to the space previously occupied by the carbon can). Hope this helps, I'll try and find some pics to help explain better.

Mine has always donne what yours does, both before and after the carbon canister was removed and replaced with a valve.
Ignore it, TADTS.

But Sherley a tank under - pressure will not let the pump pull what it's ment to
And am chasing a low pressure fault that just started poping up
Like you say it may be tadts
