I'm still two weeks away (less one day) until i pick up the r500k, and i'm already thinking exhausts - the one on there is pretty quiet from what i could gather which is great for the track (also has carbon airbox), however i'm looking for something much louder for the road. I'm thinking of having some brackets welded on to the road silencer that fit the same exhaust brackets on the car, so i can easily interchange between road and track exhaust. In my technical ignorance, am i being totally naive about whether this is possible, i.e. Does it need remapping with a different silencer?

If anyone has this set up, i'd be really interested to know! Thanks in advance.

Why would you want to make an already loud car even louder? These cars are very susceptible to any changes. The standard map works fine on track but is a pain in the road. My recommendation is 7.25 Raceco. You won't need to change the map and if you must have a car that makes more 'noise' you could always pull all the packing out.

BTW the car you're buying seem to have had been prepped for track use, judging by what I see on the dash and in the pix of the engine bay. The mods there are racecar level too, not just track day.

Apart from the obvious cage and plumbed in extinguisher, what am i missing?

Its a tough one as obviously it's gone through my mind that someone's taken it pretty seriously with that car with the extra mods, but it certainly doesnt look like any of the ex race cars i've ever seen - its pretty much concourse.

Yes, you're bang in with the mods. The extinguisher is a race essential and thus a step beyond what a track day warrior might spec.

I've been trying to discover who may have owned it. It's possible it was Dave Lloyd's car, but Ince also had a yellow car. He had it repainted before he sold it...had a 101 engine in it. Can't do you any harm in finding out who did own it and if the engine is original can it?
