Prospective 991 GT3 Owners Discussion Vol 3
Discussion
What about this one? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Different title in a different forum. I've just had an email from someone asking where Vol 2 had gone? despite no longer modding I've asked the techies to fix it. Meanwhile set up Vol 3 to allow the old discussion to carry on.
O/T Did another 2,100 miles in the car last month "touring" Scotland. Had a superb time with the highlight being a single day 382 mile run in dry traffic free conditions. Went from Dornoch - JOG - Tongue -Durness - Kylesku - Ullapool - Gairloch - Achnasheen -Skye. To the forum members planning on visiting Scotland in the next few months I hope you have similar weather and traffic.

It's definitely on my to-do list. Took the GT3 to a MANDATORY pilgrimage in the Black Forest a few weekends ago and it really came alive on flowing, open roads. I loved every mile of it.. save the odd moment where the PSC2 would struggle for traction on damp cold roads thus somehow hindering progress but at the same time increasing the level of adrenaline
9k redline (now that the run-in has been completed together with an anal and probably unnecessary oil-service) is just out of this world.
So absolute must-do in a car like this are long WE in Wales and Scotland second bank holiday of May am thinking.. with a transporter to take it there from London though as cannot bear to put 1k unnecessary and unpleasant miles for the return trip whilst no doubt adding risk for my licence as keeping it at 70mph on neverending straight motorway is borderline a crime in itself.

Just out of curiosity when you say transporter do you mean towing it there yourself or having it shipped there for your collection. Also roughly how much does it cost? Yep I've done the 1k of boring straight roads lol

Hi all,
I wanted to ask other owners a favour.
I've just got my car back after having the brakes checked out. I may be imagining it but the brakes seems more spongy now with more travel before they bite.
Please can someone check and tell me if they pump the brake pedal BEFORE the engine is switched on if there is an air-like sound? I can pump the brake maybe 5 times before the air sound stops and the pedal goes firm.
Also, does anyone know if the exhaust system would have been interfered with during a brake bleed? The PSE sounds a lot quieter now.
Of course this could all be paranoia!
