For no apparent reason my turn signals have all stopped working. The hazard lights work so the bulbs are good (and the switch is relatively new). The fuse is good. I haven't had anything apart that should impact them. What are the next couple of things to check? Thanks Grady

Thaonly really leaves the indicator (turn signal) switch on the column, the associated multi-way connector it's attached to and the flasher unit itself!
Cars of that era tended to have separate flasher units for the turn sigs and hazards, whereas modern cars use an integrated unit that can handle both functions.
On the old system, usually if a flasher unit fails it does so in a way that leaves the lamps pernmanently lit, but as you Americans say: your mileage may vary wink

I'm not an expert on electrics but when my sidelights started to flash when I operated the indicator switch I found that the earth to each light unit was not working.

I removed each sidelight/indicator unit - the earth should be a soldered joint on the back of the metal casing. One of mine was detached completely and the other was very corroded. I removed them, changed the electrical connector for a round terminal and used a small nut and bolt (a self tapper would have been just as good)

Both working fine now

I sort of forgot about the actual flasher relays. I haven't replaced one in years - which might be easier than taking the column apart.

Since the lights work in hazard and running mode, I'm think the sockets and grounds are OK. Flasher then stalk/switch. Grady

Also, I believe there is a multi connector for the indicatar column switch to the loom just under the steering column. Check that this is connected and not corroded or damaged before you take the cowling appart.
