I hugely enjoyed playing Elite on BBC micro then later Commodore Amiga and Atari ST so I literally pee'd my pants when I read that this game is coming to Xbox one 
Been waiting since 1988 for a sequel so I'm hoping its not total rubbish.
Anyone else excited about this or playing it on PC at the moment?

I've bought it but frankly I'm struggling.
Played the tutorial for a few hours until I'd mastered the admittedly tricky controls and got comfortable with docking and then went off on my merry way.
I've taken on three contracts from the bounty board and failed all three. One I accidentally sold the cargo instead of handing in the contract (yeah that ones my stupid fault, not understanding how to complete contracts), second was to find and kill a target in a system but I never managed to find it and the last as another to take some goods to another station but when I got there my ship spontaneously set alight and blew up (wasn't being attacked and no idea what happened).
I'm used to games where you grind for little reward (World of Tanks, Destiny, Minecraft etc) but this seems to be really tough. I'll give it another go at some point, maybe when a few more people start playing it or I get bored of Witcher 3.

I put it down and probably won't go back. I was really looking forward to this...
It's possible you'd pushed the left analogue stick down which switches to alternative flight controls. Done it lots of times myself but was lucky I managed to work it out or it would've put me off too!I put it down and probably won't go back. I was really looking forward to this...
It's a shame because it's a fantastic game but advice from a friend who plays is definitely recommended.

Keep trying, sounds like you may have accidentally activated 'silent running', which closes all your heat vents to reduce your heat Sig...., but also will cause you to overheat if left too long...Good luck

How are people getting on with the game so far? Personally I've played a fair bit since the early access version was released and it's good enough to keep me away from Destiny
