what would you go for? the choice at present is 02 GSXR750, 03 CBR600RR or 03 GSXR600, ranging from £4500 to about £5500..maybe even 04GSXR600

and that way the MV due in April only has to come out in good weather

any issues with an 02 GSXR750 on track? I've only done car trackdays so far

I rode my mates 02 GSXR750 at Nogaro the year before last and for a days riding on the roads oop north and it was fantastic. It's got excellent handling and the power is so much that you won't get annihilated by the litre sports bikes on the straights yet you can be more confident with the throttle on the exit of a turn. His one had an extra tooth on the rear and at Nogaro at least, I was able to hoist the front in 2nd gear coming onto the back straight, catch 3rd whilst still hoisted, up to 120 or so then land it and get on the brakes for the hairpin at the end. And even when to55ing about like this, still nobody came past.

So there's your answer. Gixer 750. You won't be disappointed.

I used a 2001 GSXR750 K1 for for 2 years, it was such an awesome bike.

Great for everyday use, but they really come alive on the track.

I own an R1 now and to be honest I was faster on the Gixxer.

when you get one, go up 2 teeth on the back and start saving for a yoshi tri-oval, then you can hoist it up of the power in 1st, 2nd and take it all the way through the box and it will sound great doing it.

if your buying a second hand bike watch out for track damage. fairings are very costly and you dont want to buy a bent one.

The only other bit of advice I can give is dont ever lend it to your mates. I did and I never got to ride mine again :0(

Have fun.

GSXR 750 with Yoshimura can is now 3 weeks away!

do I need a double bubble screen? to be frank the one on my present GSXR 600 doesan't seem to make any difference?

is it a height thing - I'm 6 foot 3

Beanorat, I don't use double bubbles and I'm 6'3" on a GSXR thou. I like the wind blast lifting the weight off my arms at 70-100 so unless you plan to tour at 140-150 you don't need a DB.
