Finally making the leap and buying the RX100 Mk3.

Any recommendations for a case?

I do like the retro look of the Ever Ready Cases on Amazon eg:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00E1TTXSQ?psc=1

but there seems conflicting reports as to whether they are a good fit for the Mk3.

A case for the RX100 Mk3?

Well, it's quite good and Sony are on their third iteration. Should be OK for a year or two. Short term there may be some issues with software support from non-Sony sources.

Does this help?

Park Cameras were giving the Sony one away with the camera. Fits well as you'd expect

Have heard very impressive things about this camera. Would have one if I was after something like it.

I road tested it against my Nikon D7000 with a 50mm f1.8 Prime. To say its good is an understatement. I wish I could post some pictures but the detail would be lost in posting.

Heard that. Alot of landscape togs are taking it as a spare setup - and not disappointed at all that it is the fall back system.

One Nikon, One Sony, Both JPG straight from camera, no processing just a bit of cropping to get below 2M. Taken at the same time.

Thanks for the link, I purchased one of these cases for my Canon S100 which was a little smaller than the RX100 Mk1 and wasn't aware that a slightly larger version was available.

I bought the RX100 Mk1 with the genuine Sony leather case, worth £40 and a 8Gb card for £259 from CameraWorld, saved a shed load on the Mk3.

As GC stated the Mk1 case will fit the Mk3.

This from the Mk1: The butterfly was straight from the camera just cropped to square and the landscape was a late afternoon/evening hand held

Sony do a genuine leather case? I thought you had to go 3rd party to get leather. Heads to Google...

Do you have a part number? All the Sony cases I found, including the one I bought ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Sony-LCJ-RXF-Premium...) are polyurethane, albeit with a convincing leather effect

Have a look

edit - the ebay one looks right but from HK, the amazon one is black. Personal choice I guess

My mistake - If Merc can use fake leather in some of the their cars I guess Sony can. They still feel pretty substantial and well made
