How cold is your fridge?

Surprised me. 7.5 degrees!

Being completely anal about fridges and freezers at work I was ashamed to find cheese from the fridge was nearly ready to eat being close to room temp last night!

Bunged a fridge probe in this morning and the average by lunch was 7.5

No wonder salad turns to mush in days.

Time to look at integrated fridges with circulators.

Actually, we only have this fridge now because I managed to break a refrigerant pipe in the old fridge freezer we had, I'm glad I did because we didn't realise how shocking it had gotten - sounds similar to where you are!

Ours keeps freezing the salad boxes, I've adjusted it thrice and am still not at a happy setting, mind frozen cucumber is better than rotting meat.

Most workplaces are far safer than the homes that their employees come from.

How many houses have a ladder register or do Legionella temperature checks or PAT test?

Or even fire drills with the kids for when the smoke alarm goes off?

Mine's typically 4 or 5° towards the top and the salad drawer/crisper 3°C - is that about right?

3C for the fridge, -19C for the freezer.

The display on mine says 6c, but I often find frost on veg (especially celery) and packets of sliced cooked meat.

Never even thought about it; going to play with thermometer tonight.

There's a little control in the top of mine that goes from 0 - 5; I assume this relates to temperature rather than a setting or power level and we have it on 3.

Ours is at 2.5c. We had a problem with spoilage until we turned the fridge down a bit

If you want the fridge to get colder do you rotate the knob to a higher number or a lower number?

4c for fridge, -19c for freezer. Have a drawer at bottom of fridge which can be set at different temps -1c to fridge temp depending on what's in it
