Northampton jammer case

The case has now been referred to the Crown Court, no date set as yet.
The charge mentioned in the update is - Perverting the Course of Justice.
I suspect that it should read - Conspiring to Pervert the Course of Justice.

This charge could also implicate the vendors of laser jammers as well as the purchasers/users.

Exactly - but you can with a supplier.

then they'd have to prosecute the supplier too and, unless you have discussed a particular planned instance of driving with teh jammer on past a policeman trying to get a laser reading, I find it difficult to imagine even the idiots of the CPS thinking that they had evidence of conspiracy. You can't conspire generally to pervert the course of justice!

The bads must be really panicking now if they're coming out with ridiculous charges like this.
Jamming a speed camera is not "perverting the course of justice" it's 'obstruction' at most.
If this ends in a ''gullty' verdict then the Police can then charge anyone wearing a balaclava/helmet/hoody/sunglasses/false nose, etc because they are obviously trying to prevent the Police from identifying them.
This country is becoming more like Stalinist Russia by the day !

When will people wake up and smell the roses. We are already there and yes the police already have the powers to make you remove your balaclava/helmet/hoody/sunglasses/false nose.

If people do nothing else before the election in a few weeks read the Terrorism Act 2000 and Anti-Terrorism, Crime & Security Bill.

See if you can spot the folling powers you've agreed to abide by

1)Indefinite internment for certain foreigners and excluding the scrutiny of the courts;

2)Allowing the Government to transpose provisions euro-crimes and orders into UK law by decree;

3) Duty to inform the police of any radical activities or face prison;

4) Forcing communications providers to back up users' data so it can be viewed by the state if they fall into suspicion at a later date;

5) Allowing police to use force to photograph any detainee and to keep the photos indefinitely and pass them onto foreign police;

6)Clamping down on discussion about religion;

7)Creating a UK wide paramilitary police force

8)Allowing the Home Secretary to extend, if he thinks fit, any of these powers by decree.

Don't take to long reading as by the time you finish the state will have you paying for your compulsary ID card and allowing the Police to store your DNA as well as the sample of you that contained the DNA (this is a crucial point) indefinetly every time you come into contact with them - no crime need be commited, no charge needs to be brought, no guilty verdict needs to be obtained - come into contact and hand over your DNA

Precisely where there case will fall down. No proof of an offence means PCJ can't succeed.

since when has the truth had anything to do with camera crimes. There will be a word in an ear and Roberts a relative Guilty. They are so scared of loosing the income this generates they will lie.Does anyone think a goverment who lied about WMD will not on someting like this.

If he has rubbish lawyers, the Crown employs a good barrister, the jury are morons and the judge is senile, then he may lose at first instance, but he should win on appeal.
