Leave our Imperial measurements alone, continental meddling money wasting scum!!!!Personally I wouldn't mind. If, at the same time, we could change over to driving on the right then we could start taking serious advantage of European prices on cars.
Mind you I think the latter will happen shortly after hell freezes over as the practical difficulty of altering that much signage and road furniture is simply unsurmountable - not to mention the ingrained driving habits of the entire population...

However, to avoid doing it all at once, it is proposed that cars and motorcycles do it initially then, if that's successful, buses, trucks and other vehicles will follow six months later.
I think they started this process about ten years ago!

The Swedes changed over to driving on the right... mind you that was in the 60s so less traffic about to confuse.
But driving on the left is the natural, correct method, so I think we should stay as we are

I'd be quite happy to change all limits and signs to km/h rather than mph, but I fear there would be stealth speed limits reductions involved too. I'm sure the m'way limit would be 110 km/h for example.

Indeedy and it is a farce, shaving off a few mph off all the lower limits - but lets not forget that that the motorway speed is now 120 kmh - about 75 mph.
