Hey.

Does anyone do cat replacement pipes for the 4.3 V8V?

I fancy some extra noise, have the Prodrive performance pack and the CELL 200s are good but I fancy more.

If the noise is too much, can always switch them back over.

Also, will any warning light be triggered with decats or do you think the update on the ecu from Prodrive sorts that?

Thanks

You can't remove the cats on a V8V without setting off the engine light. (This is different to the V12, which starts with 2 sets of cats).

Instead, change your OEM exhaust manifolds for some stainless steel ones. This will give you plenty more noise (along with some additional horses).

Ask for the 3-way switch to be installed at the same time. Then you have the option of stealth (ie valves closed) mode.

Hey.

Thanks for the feedback.

I already have the three way switch, came with the prodrive performance pack (love it, works really well).

I have been looking at headers but just can't justify the cost vs performance hike vs extra sound.

The car does sound lovely with the CELL 200s, should just be happy with that :-)

Thanks anyhow.

exactly, you would need to put the regular cats back on just to pass an MOT and risk getting a rectification notice from any Policemen that pull you over ..and warning lights on the dash all the time. All the usual downsides. cat replacement pipes are meant for track use

..so 200 cell cats are as good as it gets for road use. For more noise, the OP could replace the manifolds and run open K & N style air filters
