truffle from a supermarket (in a hurry)

Anyone know who stocks them in store? Not full on giant truffles just small black ones in a jar. Local Sainsburys did do them years ago in the "finest" range but now theyve stopped, M&S dont nor do Waitrose.

The one time my Mrs says she'll cook its the only thing we are missing and i've got only a couple of hours to find some in South Devon!

Not sure what you are cooking but we use this as a very acceptable (both to pallet and wallet!) alternative

This is what she had to settle on in the end.

Waitrose and Sainsburys show them online but not all stores stock them.

Thanks for the idea of GR, i have used them before (and Forest etc etc) but not quick enough to get to

And both our local delis that may have stocked them at one time have closed down.

Oh well, chicken with truffle and mushroom sauce it is...

If you are near a whole foods I presume they would.


Once heard WholeFoods described as the supermarket for people who find Waitrose too cheap.
