Hi Peeps....Just been trying to think about what colour to re-trim my 350i in...Its paint colour id "Gun Metal Grey" and initially i was going to have a Portland grey with Anthracite inners ..(Inners being seats..Centre console facia and arm rest handle cuts...) and then black piping...BUT...I keep swaying towards a deep dark red or oxblood as i have seen Aeroflop's interior and that has a dark red with what looks a gun metal body colour...With the walnut it will look lusho....Can people with grey coloured Wedges please pop a pic up of your interior for me...Ta...Ziga

Yeah...Bit darker though...Things is because i have different coloured off-cuts of leather the choice has suddenly just expanded...I tried dark biscuit with dark chocolate piping and that would look nice, Especially with the walnut..Thing is something would need to be ...Cream or dare i say it.."BEIGE"....vomit..Unless that could be a vanilla pod and pistachio cheesecake that sits where the radio should be...Errr...Could be...

I think a dark red with black piping would looks nice...But then so does the dark biscuit and walnut cream .....confused

Mark, it really depends on what you're happy with. Red, grey, black, beige or a combination of any of those would look good with contrasting piping. If it was me, with a grey exterior like yours, I would go bordaux red seat centres with grey bolsters and dark red piping with bordaux and grey door covers, center console and dash. It's just a matter of taste.

Thanks Tony...Not keep on a bright red with grey...Too modern looking..I think like all classic cars the leather should look like leather...The grade of leather varies considerably so sometimes the colour makes up for the grain...Im starting to like this combination as i know it will go with the grey body colour and brown/Chocolate leather always looks nice and classic...I was originally thinking about a deep "Bubble" grain leather but from a distance it might look hairy...hurl

This is called my "Dark caramel crumble with milk chocolate froth and a sweetlace of liquorice"...By the way as in food..If anyone can make this as a real desert i would love to taste it..I just dream them up...Rik would confirm that one...smile

Please excuse my dirty fingernails...I haven't had a bath or shower for a week....:roll eyes:

The milk chocolate froth will be the main colour for seat bolsters,..Transmission tunnel and centre console..Dash and door cards...Then the dark caramel crumble will be the carpet and facias..The glovebox surround...The centre consoles face and inner door rest trim...The liquorice will be the piping or top stitching and gaiters...Also served with an optional Walnut cream brûlée..Which is what i might have...lick

I've got a couple of large pieces of 2 shades of dark red vinyl from the (ongoing) re-trimming of certain bits of my interior / seat backs which you're welcome to look at if it might help in the decision making.

My grey 350i is Nimbus grey, with grey seats and blue piping. Blue roof and vinyl decals.

That probably won't help your decision though!

Personally I would go light, easier in the summer. But that is me.

This is the best interior colour combo i have seen in a Wedge..Especially a black one....It does look sumptuous ....I did think white piping but not sure it would go with the grey so it could be black piping.....More of a "Deep Beaujolais nouveau sponge on a soft cream cheese waffle with a string of mozzarella "....

2 cents, I like biscuit or the somewhat darker (Range Rover?) tan with a piping that matches the exterior color. These cars are too small for too many colors IMHO. Grady

Agree, don't over ham it Zig, too much fuss could spoil it.

By the way are you actually that good now to do your own?

I will definitely not overcook it ..I might go for the dark biscuit with chocolate piping and a milk chocolate brown carpet...Or it will be the red wine...Im ordering some samples to see..I have enough leather off-cuts to cover one headrest so i might make a couple of covers to see what i like.

As far as taking on work..Im still yet to cover seats and a dash but most of the rest is pretty straight forward..I have been practising piping and bindings for carpet...Im sourcing all the accessories like headrest guides/Bezels and trim finishers...Hopefully once all the major work is finished in my flat i will be able to crack on...I have been making other leather goods which will be a sideline.

I think once i have done mine it will be a good advert for potential work and people can see the finish...And more importantly i will have the well needed templates..There will also be some personal touches that people will appreciate although its now't to do with the actual trim...People get what they ask for..And it will have the "Z" guarantee...smile

I love this colour combo too and think it has a special appeal about it for sure, I think this was my favourite Wyn Wedge by a long way, though the red one with punchy JE engine was not that far behind.
