Launch offer funds

As a general rule of thumb is it worth investing in Funds with £1 launch offer deadlines ? Anyone invested in these ?

I bought into Woodford and TM Sandition last year about a week after launch when they were both down about a percentage point, hence waiting worked for me in these instances, but probably more by luck than any science as they followed the overall market for a while before they got established.

Anything open ended will be priced as the market sees fit rather than by supply and demand, so what is the market / sector they're operating in doing on launch day / week?

Bottom line is if we could regularly and accurately predict the market we'd all be millionaires
