Alloy Wheel Refurbish

Hi Guys

Looking at having my alloys refurbished on my Chimaera, the paint is starting to bubble in places. What is the best way to have them done? Should I have the painted and lacquered or powder coated?

Also can anyone recommend somewhere near Lincoln to get them done.

Seems to be a 50/50 split this from what ive read between powder coat and paint. Personally im just going to take mine to the wheel refurbishers and let them get on with whatever they recommend.

Could always Plasti Dip them yourself...

Just had mine powder coated in anthracite for £45 a wheel. Young lad in Sheffield did them and what a brilliant job he did.
More colour choices if You get them painted though, but a better finish in powder coating me thinks

Picked mine up from Lepsons in Gillingham this morning.

The finish is flawless, even if perhaps Lepson's organisational/customer service skills aren't...





Appreciate they might be some way from you, but at the moment they have offer on where they collect and drop back off to you for free (I think anywhere in mainland UK). Might be worth considering just through that fact alone.

As far as I understand it their process is to properly spray paint rather than powder coated, but I'm not an expert at this stuff. I just asked for a full refurb and thats what came back.

Just given them a wash and clean prior to coating with a sealant later this evening and I can't get over how much of a difference there is compared to their state before.

Edit: Just doubled checked and you're right. Its actually powder coated.
