v8 exhuast manifold bolts

Anyone have the correct size for the exhaust manifold bolts? I've not had time to pick up one of my old ones as a sample.

Is it 3/8" UNC? And about 1.25" long?

I get 80% discount on stainless nuts n bolts at my local supplier so it will be interesting to see what the cost is.

I find the ARP bolts the best as they have a smaller head and make getting to those hard to reach bolts much easier. Money well spent.

Ebay seller is well cheap (or the bolts are a st grade) even with my 80% discount still came to £25 for A2 stainless with plain and springs !

I bought the stainless cap heads. I bought some long allen keys and cut them up into different lengths of straight hex. I then just put the hex bar into the cap heads and use a fine ratchet spanner.

So your local guys full price would have been £125 for 16 bolts ? £7.80 per bolt and washers

A few years ago I bought stainless manifold bolts and stainless rocker cover screws from "JRV8's" from Ballymena. The whole lot including postage was only £17. Don't know if he's still in business, but was a very helpful guy and did loads of accessories for V8's.

well, the guys I bought mine from are specialist V8 Rover and Chevy Engine builders, so I presume they would know ?
