Whatever would Simon Templar say?

Actually, thinking about it, he probably wouldn't say much after throwing up all over the steering wheel . . .
It looks like he already has! This is how it should be.

He would shake his head and direct the builder towards this: The proper way to customise a Volvo
That as the great thing about the 60s and 70s. Providing you had a sporty coupe you didn't need a job, you merely had to drive across Europe and you were bound to get mixed up with a bunch of jewel stealing KGB mad scientists giving you the opportunity to save the world and get the girl.

k Me - I'm not driving that!"
The p 1800 (in both variants), has to be the best looking car Volvo ever made!
What a shame someone bought their designers set squares for Christmas in 70's!

I've only ever owned stop-gap Volvos, something to use before the next 'whatever' came along. I was always impressed with their comfort and apparent longevity - the ones I drove were really leggy (170+) but still felt surprisingly together.
Just not overly aspirational as fun cars though.
