Not the musical kind

I have a new battery, 630 amps of starting POWAAAAAR

After a bit of swearing and soldering (mostly swearing) because the terminals were the wrong way round and cables wouldn't stretch, got it up and running.

Headlight getting stuck in the up position, windows slow to close, car surging and occasionally stalling when started, and starter motor occasionally making clicking noises were all solved.

Starts up on the button too, instead of cranking for a while (suppose it's a better spark?).

Love it when fixes are simple. Thought I was in for some tinkering to get it working for summer.



Now that the worry's over, the paintwork saga can continue!




Also, this is why these cars become unreliable. Connector block with no insulation (sitting right next to positive terminal) and a twist connector for the earth wire:



I hate both. They're just a lazy way of doing the job properly.
