Can't wait until "smart" straps are the next big thing...
Discussion
I have a MB Profile XL, and MB have now announced that it'll fit any of their watches with a 20-24mm bracelet, for around £200. Surely it can't be long before Rolex et al do the same thing? Stick your automatic winder on a winder overnight, and it'll charge the smartphone bit battery, as well as keep your watch wound up.
I could get the new MB strap, but mine is a pretty heavy watch with heavy links in the bracelet, which would look a bit ghey with the new carbon fibre strap - but there has to be space on the clasp to at least have text messages display on it, or "who's calling"... I have a Rolex Air King Date inherited from my Dad as well, would love to keep it's old, battered, "daily worn for 40 years" look, but replace the clasp with a simple line of text readout.
Anyone else looking forward to what will likely be the next step for nice watches, integrating the display into a new strap/clasp/whatever?
