Have a small problem with my dials and meters on my cat 1.6 k. 1996. Most of them incl. oil water and petrol gets foggy, anything to do about that? Other problem is speedo that kind of shakes the numbers rather than pointing when accelerating and most important when I hit the flor pushing for high revs going above 5500 the meter is dancing, showing everything from 5000 to 7000 ( i believe that the k engine stops at 6500). So pls. any advise to settle the above, if any solutions, or is it just the cheer joy of owing an older Cat. best r. Michael

Re misty gauges the age old solution has always been to saw a couple of 30-40mm slots around 5mm apart on the bottom of the gauges making sure that you don't allow any dust to enter the gauges.

Something I've been meaning to do for the last 16 years but to be honest it's not that much of a problem for me.....

The speedo problem is possibly the cable, you may want to undo the cable at the back of the speedo pull the centre cable out and check it is oiled/greased make sure both the outer isn't kinked or damaged. As long as the cable runs with nice curves it should then be fine (or at least a bit better)

I'm sure I read that swapping to LED gauge bulbs helps with the misting due to the lower heat?
