What should I go for, a 3.0 TFSI or TDI? And what will be better for me automatic or manual?

In terms of my situation, I would only be driving about 4000 miles a year, mostly motorway. I'd prefer a car that makes more noise when you put the gas down, start up, rev etc. I'd also prefer manual as I enjoy driving but again the noise is a bigger factor for me. I'm not sure what else to consider at the moment.

Also, would people say an A5 coupe is a cheaper substitute of the BMW M3?

thank you.

3.0TFSI is not available in manual. But for only 4k miles a year, buying the diesel would be a waste of time

Sounds like you need an S5

Low miles so no fuel cost worries - check
Goes like stink - check
Manual - check
V8 with great exhaust note - check

Ok thanks.

Yeah I think I'm going to skip out on the A5, and for around £3k I can get a pretty nice S5.

For 4k miles a year the v8 is a no brainer, don't forget the milltek!

For that sort of mileage, the additional fuel costs will be relatively small.

The 3.0TDi is a great engine, but I don't think it's suited to your needs.
