Speed Camera???

[ratboiler]

Driving down a road in Bedford at the weekend and noticed that the speed camera signs have an additional sign added to the bottom, which said police enforcement camera, I noticed that there is what can only be described as a black unit about the size of a lap top and about as thick with a camera within the unit at the top, bolted to the lamp post.
Anybody know if they are speed cameras and do they flash or light up as the black panel looks like it should?

It could be one of those signs that either flashes the limit at you if you exceed it or one that tells you your speed.
