How depressingly backwards and negative. It's like going back in time to the 1960s, perhaps we should build some huge council estates where the parks are.

They ought to do 30 seconds of study into what makes some cities great to live in.

Its bloody stupid, I see loads of elderly cyclists about, plus define elderly?

I ride with a couple of guys in their 60s who will whip lots of my mates in their 30s!

I see a fair few elderly (70-80 years old) out and about on bikes and who would benefit most from designated lanes, in terms of being at risk and safety

UKIP in a nutshell. This smacks of desperation IMO, a properly cynical appeal to people's dislike of 'the other'. And I may be wrong, but I don't recall UKIP complaining that the huge amount of money spent on wooing pensioners come election time amounts to 'discrimination' against the young. Bunch of knuckle-dragging wkers led by a hypocritical, untrustworthy clown. All IMO of course.

UKIP candidate for Ealing Southall, John Poynton, commented on the CTC's website yesterday: "The pressures on facilities for cycling are principally caused by high levels of immigration. No party can do anything significant for cyclists until we have left the European Union. Only UKIP will do this."

Its nice to see they have a unified policy on this.... smile

Thats what UKIP are saying, are you all a bit special on here?

Where does it say UKIP objects to cycle lanes, it says its not costed and could be a waste of money, isn't that sensible or are you happy for our money not to be spent where its most needed?

It's just conjecture, no substance. Just morons ranting with no evidence (education). Sums them up as a whole.

Here come the Kippers defending every word that St Nige (peace be upon him) and his party say.

For more amusement poke your head into any of the multitude of UKIP threads over in News, Politics and Racism.

There are many things I'd much rather do then read any UKIP thread in there, most of them include body parts and rusty saws...

That bit is fine. Most cycle lanes are pointless. But the other 3/4 of the flyer where the writer goes off on a crazy rant? Not so much.

Agreed, it has also been pointed out that this flyer is fake.

By the way, I cycle daily to work, I am young(ish) and I will be voting UKIP. smile

I always thought Pedal Powered to be a haven of sense, rational discussion and support for the pastime/hobby/sport/mode of transport we, in here, all love.

Please, for the love of Eddy, can we banish all mention of UKIP from these pages.
