Or in layman's terms, the Certificate of Conformity.

I'm attempting to help my brother-in-law import his Volkswagen back into the UK from France. To do this, the DVLA requests an "Application for a first tax disc and registration of a used motor vehicle".

The guidance states that most of these values should come from the vehicle's Certificate of Conformity, which he has ordered from Deutschland and is kindly written in German. In particular there are two fields we can't seem to fill out:

  • Item 35, CO2 g/km
  • Item 42, Engine Speed Sound
The only things listed in die Ubereinstimmungsbescheinigung for emissions and sound are as follows:

Emissions
  • Abgasverhalten (emissions) 96/69/EG
  • CO - 0,752 G/KM
  • HC - ----- G/KM
  • NOx - ----- G/KM
  • HC + NOx - 0,611 G/KM
  • Partikel - 0,044 G/KM
CO is not CO2 and thus CO2 doesn't seem to be listed. This is apparently a required field and states "Take this information from the Certificate of Conformity (the combined figure)" but... it isn't there!

Sound
  • Standgeräusch (stationary noise?) - 80,0 DB(A)
  • Fahrgeräusch (driving noise?) - 73,0 DB(A)
Stationary sound level is field 41 and so that has 80 DB in it. My brother in law has put 73 DB into field 43, which is Drive-by Sound. But that leaves field 42 without a value. The guidance here states "Take this information from the Certificate of Conformity. The engine speed means the speed at which the readings are taken (for example, 81 (stationary) at 3000 (engine speed) min - 1/70). You do not need to fill this in if you are providing an SVA, IVA, or MSVA certificate. However, if you have this information you must give it here."

If you're still here... any ideas? smile
