Just walking through the village and a nice looking blue CV8 trundled through. Not see you before

I imagine that was me! Heading back home to basingstoke from work and fancied a different route home!

It's a bit of a turd currently but that will change!

Phil. I didn't realise you had just acquired that one recently. That was one that was for sale recently and came up to my meet earlier in the year

See you around locally

Yes, it is the one from fareham

Due to my previous car sale going rather sour (the buyer) I haven't really posted much.

I'll be honest, the car is not without its faults but it's not a bad car, I am fairly ruthless with the things that matter.
Money and mileage has to be taken into account, but it has the right parts as a base.

It needs work, and I'm just pottering around in it every now and then to get some miles into my list of things to do, plus it makes my daughter happy! Luckily both friends in Australia and America are proving very useful!

Next time it's seen at a meet hopefully it will be more together and differant!

And James, apologies for not getting back to you, I was tempted by a friend to 'have' a look and because the chap had bought a vxr I was able to draw a direct comparison.
The route I have decided to go with it I would really end up loosing money and buyers (if I ever sold) playing around with a vxr!

I went to see this when it first came up as I wanted a blue one but it needed too much done to it for me

No problem. You have bought the right early price range one to play and mod with

Compiling all the parts I need for my list of things that needed doing.
Reverse wasnt to bad, yes it crunches if your fast with it, if you hold the gearstick in reverse an ease the clutch you can feel it 'pop' into reverse.
Common in the states and friend who is a 'box specialist agrees with the repair, which is a new reverse synchro and adjustment to the fork as it doesnt fully engage. So that will be a nice days work for me.
Leaky rear nose seal too which inturn was gunking up the shifter making it pretty nasty!
Rest of the box is fine, gearbox mount is pretty grim so that will be replaced too.

Motor runs well, goes fairly well in comparison to other LS1s i have driven, already picked up a set of headers for it and will sort the exhaust out that is HORRID!

Other than that, a good service and clean underneath with a spruce up inside, as things like the steering wheel and shift gaiter make it feel old and worn.
