Should something be plugged into this?

Please say no as I can't see the corresponding male connector anywhere.
Its at the rear of the ignition amplifier on the aluminium heat sink.

Pretty sure there should be something plugged into it, isn't that the connector for the ignotion amp? Does your car run with it unplugged?

Yes I'm afraid. You can see the male connector in the below pic resting on the side of the trumpet base/plenum. It is part of the loom that stretches across the front of the engine (normally cable-tied to the long breather hose)

Sorry,should have said,car has been in a million bits as ive done a body off. Cant find a picture of this item pre strip down. It looks suspiciously clean as though it did have something plugged into it.

Thanks you two for replying,that picture helps a lot,i see what I have done,the missing connector is plugged into the end of the throttle pot,believe it or not they are exactly the same type of connector,now all I need to do is find the missing connection to the throttle pot.

YES! Found my missing connector,it was hiding under the plenum,the little tinker.
