rover keyfob buddy help pls

I was just wondering if anyone could help me with my dads rover keyfob setup.I done what the book said turn the key lock ,and got the immobiser to switch off ,then i tried to program the keyfob by draining it with the batterys out ,but it wont unlock/lock the doors.Phoned rover and they told me to press the 2 buttons for 15 seconds out of the car reach ,still no success.The keyfob has 2 lights a green and a red ,its a p reg 800 ,has anyone been successful with this type of keyfob ?if so can you help us pls ..if not is there a website which could help us?

What car is it?


On an F, it would help to disconnect the battery and then press the open button 3 times.

Its a rover 820si p reg mate .havnt heard that one before dcing the battery but sounds very tempting might try that m8 thanks
