Thicker cables should have lower resistance so lower losses but at cost and weight (lols) penalty.
Wether this makes any difference in real world terms with new cable and connectors I do not know..
The 135a protected by a 100a fuse will be just fine capacity wise (obviously). And most likely fine from a resistance loss too..

Personally I wouldn't use 16mm even if the battery was next to the starter motor.
Where is the 100 amp fuse going, in the battery to starter cable or in the cable from starter soleniod that feeds all other circuits?
I tried 100 amp between +ve battery post and main cable... it blew, now have 200 amp
