Changing diff output bearings and seals - BTR

Anyone done this with the diff in situ? Straight forward or a PITA?

Got to be a pain in the arse Gary the side seals being the problem through poor access & visibility essential for correct seal alignment IMO I would be happier removing the diff and removing the end plate/cover and getting all the old oil and sediment out thats not possible when fitted to the car another bonus

Ok, no biggie - got a spare that's intended for the Quaife treatment in due course. Was just going to change out these bits to eliminate them as a source of an annoying bearing noise if an easy enough swap (no other symptoms discernible and the exact source not identified)

Is this a hard job once the diff is out? Mine is already out, and I'm wondering if it's worth doing as a matter of course....
Are the parts expensive?

Parts seem reasonable enough and looks straight forward on a bench where there's some room. Read up before diving in on the input side though as easy to mess up the CP preload
