How much does a 'vehicle check' service cost? What goes on?

I have a 2007 r56 Mini Cooper S.

I have a vehicle check service coming up in June. Has anyone had one of these done at a main dealer before? Since I've owned the car, it's had 2 new tyres, brakes and the more comprehensive oil change! It just loves to be serviced.


What generally happens with these vehicle check services and how much do they normally cost? The car is under the mini warranty so i'm keeping it at the main dealer for now.

You really need to speak to the dealer and find out what the 'vehicle check' includes and what you're actually paying for. On here, we can only really speculate, so you need to find out for yourself.

Personally, I think a lot of these check things are bks. I took my 106 Rallye to Peugeot a couple of years ago to get the cambelt changed and a service carried out. When I spoke to them over the phone, they offered an oil and filter change for something like £100, or a 'major service' for about £250. Not having time to speak for long over the phone, but wanting my car in top shape, I told them to book me in for the major service. I later went online and found that the majority of things on the major service were visual checks on different parts of the car. I rang up the next day and told them to just do the oil and filter, since I wasn't paying an extra £150 to have someone look at my car when I was quite capable of that myself. If I hadn't have checked, they'd have done the oil and filter and pocketed £150 for filling in one more sheet of paper. I asked the service manager when I picked the car up if there was anything else it needed, and got a quick rundown...he was touting for more work, and I got the 'visual inspection' free!
