Group buy on Becker Audio/Nav/Bluetooth units

Hi all,
A friend of mine runs an audio business and is (the caterham owners on here will know Julian from other bulk buys) and he has helped me upgrade the head unit in my car. I principally made the choice to upgrade to get a bit better sound on for my longer car trips PLUS it gave me bluetooth connectivity. Just jump in, turn your phone on and your hooked up to a handsfree system thru the stereo. It also has Sat Nav/voice control functions aswell. Becker make OEM porsche gera and the unit is almost a straight fit. Certainly they look like factory fitted once installed.
Anyway, the piece of gear is the latest Becker Traffic pro. The unit can be seen at the link below it is the 7949 unit with Blue tooth.

The unit usually retails at around 1200 plus Vat. He is doing them on the group buy for 700 plus vat plus carrier charge.

A couple of PH'rs have asked if this unit fits exactly and if the connections are a straight swop. The answer to both questions is yes. It is a direct swop. All you will need to do is to place the sat nav receiver. Julian does an excelllent set of photos to help guide thru the install.

Do you know if this device works with MY03 on Porsches fitted with the MOST bus?

I have a MY03 BoxS with the CDR23 unit in it and a six CD changer. I wanted to upgrade this to a TrafficPro and contacted the UK distributor - I was advised, two years ago now, that this would not work.

Do you know if the latest model would now work? If so I am very tempted...

I knew the 78xx generation Becker units wouldn't work. I was really hoping they'd have fixed this in the 79xx generation devices.

After all - they make the blasted Porsche units!
