Hi..just wondering of the effects of the Sun on the paintwork of an Aston. I notice that many cars in the Middle East are white, to reflect the heat. However, I would guess that there are Astons in darker colours (mine is blue) and wanted to know how the paintwork copes with the Sun and also, if a Volante, how the interior copes.
cheers

I had a V8V in Qatar for 2.5 years in Amethyst Violet (aubergine sort of). The car saw 50C and a bit more but both work and home had underground parking so it wasn't exposed for more than a few hours at a time. It was 4 years old when I sold it and the paint was perfect.

The a/c will be your issue in really hot temps.

Ha...keep dreaming!

Nice to know that the paint copes with hot temperatures...though less happy about the comment on aircon..... I know cars are tested in the desert as well as cold places...maybe Aston doesn't test older cars in such conditions to see how well they cope when they are not new...

my 2009 db9 volante is in Australia. I am second owner and have just had to recover 3 dash panels (the two closest to the windscreen, and the instrument hood). Leather had dried out and shrunk. It can't be re-stretched. If you are in a hot country keep your dash moisturized ;-) seats and everything else are fine.
