Almost all car engines run clockwise as viewed from the front, There are a few exceptions the Citroen 2CV I think was one that runs anti-clockwise. It reminded me of a fellow who decided to change the engine for one from a later model but did not realise that the new engine ran clockwise. Result:

One very slow forward gear but 4 reverse gears!

splendid, intuitively clockwise felt right - whilst pistons are recip, many components are no doubt bedded in to turn one way even when hand crankin with plugs out - like to oil bores after long rest and then crank oil up to pressure around system on starter before returnin plugs
