Early TVR bodies
Discussion
Just browsing the "net" and saw a feed from "Electron" [March 2014] about early TVR prototypes possibly being fitted with RGS Atlanta bodies.
I was wanting to build a "Ford 1172 Special" when in my "teens" [1955] and bought an abandoned "project" off a chap in Blackpool, along with an RGS Atlanta fiberglass body shell from one of the vendors mates. Never though anything about it at the time, but laterly i`ve wondered if the seller of the body was in fact Trevor Wilkinson, later of TVR fame?
The bodyshell came cheap, as it had been hacked about quite a bit to "clothe" some experimental spaceframe chassis that were being made to accept Austin "Devon" bits.
I built the Ford Special and got it on the road in `57 or early `58 before eventually selling it on in 1963.
I have very few photo`s of my "Ford Special" with RGS body, but if anyone can shed some more light on these early Wilkinson products, that were the forerunner of TVR, it would be interested to learn about them while i`m still looking "down" at the grass!!
I can be contacted at zero-one@garlick.eclipse.co.uk

As suggested in the other thread I think a copy of 'TVR -The Early Years' by Peter Filby would be of great interest to you.
