Decent/Gastro pub in/around Formby, Merseyside.

Can any of the NW PHers recommend a decent pub in/around Formby, or nearby? I'm after somewhere that's not a chain, has a decent atmosphere and a bit of character.

Southport is out, otherwise I'd be heading straight to The Guest House, so if anyone knows a similar pub in Formby, let me know.

I've also posted in the NW forum, but this one seems to have a bit more traffic, hence the double post.

We use the Star Inn, in Rainford. Make sure you book well in advance if its a weekend you plan on going.
