What Bike Thread - Enduor- £4k ish budget

So i've got the budget for a relatively good 'all mountain'/'enduro' bike, marketing people eh - its just a downhill bike that will pedal a bit ! 27.5" wheel is without a doubt the way to go , really not sold on the 29 geometry/ looks and have come up with a few possibilitys.

Santa Cruz Bronson Carbon (not cc)
Rocky Mountain altitude 750
Santa cruz nomad carbon.

Whats missing from this list or what else should i check out?

YT should definately be high up the list. Cotic Rocket and Commencal Meta AM are worth a look too.

Small, relatively new British company, based in Hampshire doing direct sales only, but if it's close enough you can book a demo bike (or bikes) for a day to see that you are buying 'right'... http://www.birdmtb.com/aeris-150-2/ ...their top spec build is the Aeris.RS @ £3700, but I think that one is SRAM X1 only (no Shimano option)

And whats going on with them all specc'ing air shocks. Coil/Oil weight diff is minimal and the feel/setup is easier !

It's an enduro bike so buit for varied terrain which would benefit an air shock.

i saw the sb6c and instantly fell in love. Cant stretch to 6k though

Never found oilcoil to be a problem on previous xc bikes...

I had this quandary 3 years ago and bought a well specced up Orange 5. If I were in the same position again I'd struggle to see past a YT Capra, just bonkers value. I would however look at Orange again, the 5 has been utterly faultless.
My problem with the Santa Cruz is I'd want the all singing all dancing ENVE wheeled option but that's £7k plus.

I have an Spesh Enduro Expert 650b. It's pretty amazing. Pedals well and eats up anything.

I found the bronson sizing too odd but the Nomad felt much better.

Kona is an option too. My bike had to have bottle cage mounts though. Orbea is meant to be great.

I'd take the Capra and some change for kit and uplift days.
