Trademarks... register TM as an individual or LTD co.?

I register TM's for my business names as a matter of course... so far, I have been registering the TM's under my name (individual) and then, in effect, license the TM to my company. I wonder if each respective co. should own its own TM? What are the pitfalls and benefits of either route (if any?)

On the other hand any investors in the business would probably want the business to own the TM asset.
