Excited it not the word.
Just paid a Deposit for a Black 996tt 19000 miles & drives a dream.. Collect it on the 29/1/05.
Got in the end £41k for my 2002 996 targa 23000 miles .- tyres & brakes need doing and the RMS is being repaired by opc next week. (hence a tt and not a 997)
:joy:

Yes opc.
quite open happy to post the prices.
paid GBP 69995 for the Black 996tt 11/02 2003 spec 19000miles 1 owner from new Tonbridge opc middle of the road option.
and got GBP41000 for my Silver 996 Targa 07/02 2002 spec 23000miles me as the 1 owner from new. basic to middle options.
mine needed 2 new rears, new pads and discs all round, RMS leaking (although im having that sorted next week under the exteneded warranty) and was told the clutch is slipping a bit - although not sure about that plus some work on the roof.
Poorcardealer (tm) kindly gave a guide price for mine, and having driven a few tt's of similar age and milage with 2 of them being of a poor drive and 2 owners in a short time, plus major warranty work - when I drove this black tt, within 100m you could tell is was a fantastic drive and (hopefully) looked after well.
The rest of the test drive just had me laughing and smiling all the way. You know what I mean when you get a nice handling car - it flows and compliments you as a driver, your not fighting it. Thats how this one is. Super.
I cannot say how much difference there was between the tt's i have driven.
Also asking about the repairs and history all helped.
Clearly you never win on cars and money but Im over the moon with this one, and secretly was hoping I could have another black car.
Collect it on 29/1/05.
ps if anyone can post a pic of it for me thats would be nice !

Spiffing old chap bet its quicker round Goodwood than that old thing that had patio doors instead of a proper roof

be even faster, with the Lizard watching, then in the passenger seat acting as ballast !
Rate the Targa - Good, its after all a normal 996with patio doors for a roof! Liked the airyness, think it was too expensive new compared with say a c4s but I enjoyed it. As my first pork it was great.
Need more power. hence the tt

superlight. just email me the pics at the same address as before.
what made you go for the Turbo and not the GT2 in the end?
Sweet car. I still remember Dazren taking me for a short ride in Egham...
I remember thinking "eerrr should i tell him theres a rounabout approaching... oohh bloody heck he's gone round... wow that was fast"
Amazing amazing cars.

Rico - GT2 - Cost partly stoped me, the ceramic brakes was a concern - although not a bigun, and for a daily drive I liked the idea of the safety net of the PSM and 4wd plus I didnt want to keep scraping it when going over high drives/speed bumps and I liked the extras on the tt for comfort.
The black tt Ime getting simply drove like a dream and instantly felt right for me, A couple of other tt's I drove did not.
There were no black GT2 either on the opc system(except one with brown interior via a independant) and no other 996tt's man in Black at my price range either or the milage I wanted.
Thanks for hosting the pics. Your GT2 looks good in your profile.
Thanks
James
