Bit a an long one this , but please bear with me.

Met the wife and kids for lunch. She was not awfully happy, and told me the reason why:

She was sat on a bench in a shopping centre, giving our twin boys a drink each from bottles. She noticed a bloke was just staring at her, and realised as she was wearing a V-neck sweater, allowing rather ample cleavage on display...

Embarassed, she moves along to another bench. Blokey gets up, follows, and moves so he can continue staring.

She decides that it's a bit creepy, she's done what she needed too, and will get the bus home.

Boards bus and this man then gets on the same bus. Hmmm.

Wife decides that as the bus stops virtually outside our house that she will stay on a few stops longer.

She disembarks, and can see that at the next stop (not particularly far away, on an adjoining street) he gets off as well, and starts walking in a direction towards her (but still some distance away).

She quickly walks to a very nearby friends house (the reason she choose that bus stop) who was in, fortunately. She loses site of the man, and neither of them see him from the house. Friend walks with the Mrs back to our house.

All that was unsettling when she told me, and I warned her to do a quick 'sweep' around the area before returning to the house, be ready with the keys, lock the doors etc. just in case.

But on the way home she stops at another friend's who live on same street as us (also have young twins coincidently). Rather alarmingly, when teh wife recounted the story, the friend said a very similar thing happened to her the week before. Even down to strange bloke getting off at the next stop (but not the same stops as today). And yes, the description of their mutual friend matched.

So, report/mention it to the local Police Station? Or am I being overly protective and paranoid?

Cheers, Phil

Report it. At least it's on record should she have to confront him.

Also get her a personal alarm and make sure she has a mobile.

no harm at all in mentioning the fact to police as Woddy says.

Sounds like, from what you write, that your wife isn't in the habit of worrying about things....and people's instincts tend to be better about this than they realise. I'd report it....

Report it the police;

The will make an 'intelligence report' about the incident and his description, time/place of occurance etc will be logged.

There's very little more that can be done with it at this stage...

Thought more about this last night. How bad would your missus feel if she found out this person attacked someone else and she hadn't bought him to the attention of the Police?

report it.

I was once followed home. The guy sat on the wall of the house opposite so I phoned the police.
It was like the Sweeney!
4 police cars, 2 vans and 2 unmarked cars.

Apparently, he had been following women home and frightening them witless, but they had been unable to catch him.
Anyway after a good description the man was taken away and returned to the mental hospital he had 'escaped' from.

Thanks for the replies.

As of last night she was fairly firm that if any of the other mothers at the various toddler/twins clubs had any similar problem they (her and friend) would report it.

I said report it anyway, using the 'what about he next person it happens too' arguement, but fell on stoney ground. Can't drag her down there by the hair...

Thanks again, Phil

That was another one of my reasons for reporting him - if anything violent happened (possibly involving me) then it would show our previous concerns of personal danger, not just some random fighting.

May yet convince her over the weekend.

No need for him to know his picture was taken by phone AFAIK. Do it.

Nowadays that means a 68 in a 30 NIP, there's no money in beating people up these days.

Report it Liebchen. Guy may not be interested in your wife but in the children - given you mentioned both women had young twins with them when followed!

He may have fixation mit twins - it happens.

He may have fisation mit mamas of twins - it happens.

But sounds like someone who may be on kind of register und may need some help even.
